UNSW study: channelling rooftop PV into water heating is a residential super saver

A new study led by Dr Baran Yildiz of the University of New South Wales’ School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering shows that storing excess lunchtime solar in an electric hot water tank already onsite at more than 50% of Australian households can save them an extra $100 a year on their electricity bills for minimal upfront investment.

Solar carpark now powering Wollongong’s council

Wollongong has become the latest city to embrace solar carparks. Last week, the Wollongong City Council announced the installation of 549 panels atop its multi-storey Stewart Street carpark was complete.
